WHAT IS A HAMMAM?

The water ritual

The hammam is the Arab steam bath descended from the Roman thermal baths. A journey through rooms at different temperatures to sweat, relax and cleanse the body, as travellers once did on arriving at the medina. Here you can experience baths in the Andalusi tradition, just a few steps from your room.

THE EXPERIENCE

The thermal circuit

The ritual begins with a warm-water bath so the body does not experience a sudden change in temperature. Next comes the hot-water pool, where the muscles relax completely, followed by a cold-water bath to tone the muscles. You can repeat the circuit as often as you wish, and there is also a massage room.

A welcome way to release tension and relax body and mind away from everyday stress.

The facilities

  • Warm-water pool

    With two waterfalls.

  • Hot-water pool

    With a hydromassage bench and loungers.

  • Cold-water pool

    Completes the circuit and tones the muscles.

  • Ice fountain

    Provides the greatest temperature contrast. Rub the ice over the surface of your body.

  • Heated loungers

    The warmth and body position gradually relieve muscle pain and other injuries.

  • Footbath walkway

    A walkway with side jets and pebbles underfoot to stimulate circulation in the legs.

  • Infrared room

    Helps eliminate toxins, combat chronic fatigue, reduce muscle pain and improve circulation. Maximum temperature 55°, with a recommended stay of 10 minutes.

  • Massage room

    The space for the massages that accompany the circuit.

  • Outdoor area

    Two heated saltwater pools.

  • Golden rooms

    Traditional Arab steam baths with cold, warm and hot rooms. The circuit takes around 25 minutes.

  • Contrast shower

    At a fixed temperature, ideal after a massage or a session in the infrared room.

Hammam admission from age 6. Children under 16 may only enter during the children’s session, from 14:00 to 16:00, accompanied by an adult. Saunas and the steam bath are for over-18s. Read the Spa rules and conditions before booking.
